Rating 56" Laser 230Z
Finally got to fly the 56' Laser, only 3 flights so far.Low rates have plenty of response for me,10degrees on ailerons and 20 degrees on elevator. Recommended expo right on. Balanced right on the money. 1/2 throttle is all I needed to do anything I wanted to do. Wide open it is a rocket! 6 minute flight max so far on 3000 mah battery. Still tweaking trims but not much needed. Lands sweet. No bad tendencies there! I'm 70 years young and just wanted an accurate precision airplane tame enough for me on low rates. Very good in cross winds on landing. The kit: Best I have seen. Attention to details is excellent. Very strong and incredibly light air frame. Clever thoughtful assembling techniques. This model is a precision pleasure to fly. Lastly, customer service and quick replies on any questions superb. Customer service is king in my book. Great job guys. Pete

Rating Excellent Aircraft!
This is probably the highest quality ARF of this type I have ever purchased. Everything fit together nicely and the covering was perfect. I wasn't sure how this plane would handle the wind because it is so incredibly light, but I've flown it in 10-15 mph wind and it flies like a much larger plane - very precise and stable. I had one pretty hard harrier landing where is slammed on the gear and I thought it would be damaged for sure, but nothing whatsoever. This plane is truly a nice balance between precision and 3D flying, it does both very well. One comment is that I think it flies much better without the SFG's and KE is very nice without them, so I leave them off. Great job AJ - this one is a winner!

Rating right out of the box
This is my first AJ airplane, but I am now working on the 70, so it is not the last. This plane tracks better than planes twice its size. Very precise and solid control. Gives great confidence even on the first flight. I also purchased the Hacker motor and it runs great and has plenty of power. Quite a few flights now and totally in love with it. Customer service is the best. I did put my own color scheme on it, but that's not their fault. I just wanted it to be unique.

Rating Awesome plane
The plane is the rave of my friends at the field. After being in the sun the first time I only had to do a minimal amount of monokote work. Probably the least of any plane I have owned. Great Plane.

Rating At first flight
From the moment that the wheels left the runway, I knew the Laser 230 was going to be my dream come true of what a plane is suppose to be. From the day the box arrived and checking for any shipping damage to final assembly. I will say both were excellent. Granted there were a few snags, but overall the build went smoothly. Flying the Laser is where the time and quality that went in to designing the Laser really payed off. Everything that I ask the Laser to do, it did it and did it beyond my expectations. Flight control mixing. What flight control mixing? Knife edges was roll and go. Straight as can be. If you want low and slow or high energy, you have it in the Laser 230z.

Build quality of this model is top notch. Flying qualities are even better. First day out with this plane and I felt as if I have been flying it for years. The limiting factor of this model are my flying skills. Flown with Hacker, 3300 4s, Castle ESC and Hitec servos. Do yourself a favor and get one, you will not regret it.

Rating Just what i was looking for.....
First off the airframe arrived well packed and protected. Nothing worse than unboxing your new plane and having it damaged on its journey. The build is straight forward and the online instructions are excellent. I'm using the recommended set up, which works out well because there are no mods needed. I fly a Xoar 15x6 prop and Pulse 4s 3700 45c batteries. I can get around 7 minutes of flight depending on how hard i push it. Now lets get to the flight characteristics. On low rates it is smooth as silk. Not intimidating at all. I've only been practicing 3d for a short time, but my skills have improved a lot since i've been flying the Laser. On high rates it'll do pretty much anything you want. Pop-tops,blenders,KE spins, snaps. Tracks excellent in any position. This is my new go to plane. It's the best of both worlds pattern and 3d all rolled into one. I can't wait to expand my skills with this plane. Last but not least is customer service, which is excellent by the way. If you have any questions or need help with something give them a call and they are more than willing to answer any questions. Great job all around.

Rating Perfectly refined! I'm blown away...
I am very fussy about my airplanes. I can tell from the first flight if the plane is going to do what I want or just be another ehh, it's just okay plane... I have to tell you, the 56" Laser blew me away. There is no wing rock in the harrier. It hovered like a ghost. I didn't even put the side force generators on and it knife edges with just a little rudder and no coupling. I did an effortless knife edge loop on the first flight before I even had it tweaked in perfectly. One of the best things I liked about the plane is its ability to maintain speed. It just seems like at half throttle this thing holds the same speed in straight & level, the climb, then pull the throttle on the downline and BAM, same speed... I am truly impressed and like I said... I am very fussy and wasted lots of money on poorly designed airplanes. When I first saw the plane I thought it wasn't going to have enough wing area. I couldn't have been more wrong... I'm running Hitec 5085 servos, A power 32 Eflight motor with its matching ESC. The plane came in at 3.1 pounds with a 4S, 3200mah battery. That's awesome!!! All I can say is buy one. You won't be disappointed. I can tell these guys refined this thing to a TEE. Joe

Rating Laser 56
I really don't like reviews that don't have the equipment used listed so I will start there. For power I used a generic 5055 motor I had on hand and a Castle Talon 90 with an APC 17-8 prop. This caused the 56 to be a bit nose heavy so rather than add useless weight on the tail I built a shelf over the carbon fiber wing tube for the 4S 4200 battery. I also took a plastic drawer from a parts organizer and Velcro mounted that on the shelf so the battery would install at the exact same spot every time. I used Hitec 225's for servos with Dubro heavy duty large arms. Had to open up the holes just slightly to get them to drop in. Overall the quality of the plane was better than ARF's from other major manufacturers. The build was a breeze and everything fit well. The only couple of nits I could pick was the canopy doesn't line up exactly and the paint on the cowl chips off a bit more easily than I would think. Neither is of any consequence as I bought it to fly, not to look at. Speaking of flying, the maiden flight started out great. Was a bit windy, 17 gusting to 25, which was more than I would like for a maiden but was anxious to see it in the air. I am not a 3D pilot but like the way a good 3D plane handles. The roll rate was about as fast as I have seen. Played around a whole le, shot several touch and goes and had a blast. Flight ran a little long and the battery got down a little low, and caught the long grass off the edge of the field on final. The landing gear ended up horizontal and leD to a call to Tim. I ordered a new motor box, which I received very quickly. Tim has been wonderful to work with as far as customer service. Due to weather here in Wisconsin I have not had a chance to fly it again yet but am looking forward to green replacing the white on the ground.

After purchasing plane back in June and applying recommended hacker motor and recommended servos purchased both from Aj sight. Build was easy and straight forward. Finally took it for maiden flight this weekend at local club field . Had to get assist from more experienced pilot only because at this time of yr sun glare was bad even at 11 am . Plane took off easily and didn't need much trim.plane flew well and easy for 1st flight. I look forward growing with this plane
