Rating 2M Acuity
This is my second time purchasing a 2M Acuity. I competed with one for my first year in pattern and absolutely loved it. This time around, I was looking for a 12s platform and a ship that really cuts through on gusty days. The Acuity is the answer. This plane flies so good and true. There is absolutely no other built up pattern plane ARF that comes close. Very happy with the purchase and I love doing business with a great family like the Jesky's

Rating Acutie review
I have been flying the Acuity for a couple of weeks (26 flights). Box arrived encased in headboard. No wrinkles. Build was straightforward with parts in labeled bags for each assembly. Note: I do not recommend using elevator servos that use only two screws (no wood for screws). Changes: I put in larger wheels and painted pants white for visibility. 22 flights and my skill level could not get it to trim in pitch (velocity and attitude change trim). Removed cantilizer. Very much better. More predictable. Now I am happy with plane and can get back to practicing

I purchased the Acuity to replace the E'Tude I lost at last year's NATS. Can't beat the value for what you get for the price. Took a while figuring out how to mount the Plettenburg, but finally with some minor modifications managed to use a Great Planes Extra Large motor mount for a nifty installation. (See March 18 K-Factors) Plane flies great and needed very little trim. Just purchased a second Acuity as a back up. Would recommend this aircraft to anyone from sportsman to FAI.

The quality of my yellow, blue, white 2m Acuity is outstanding. All glue joints were tight. Everything aligned correctly. I'm installing a Hacker A60-7s motor with a Gator 82mm spinner. Mine did not come with building instructions. Not a problem if you have built ARF's. Otherwise you can use the 62" Acuity manual as a Guide. I hope to fly it soon.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to order an 2M Acuity but when Jason won the Nats with one I figured I give it a try. It was going to be a winter assembly until Jason showed up and flew one at a local pattern contest. I went home that night and started on mine. I finished it last week and just finished the first weekend flying it. All I can say is wow. The airplane actually made me look like a qualified pattern flyer. I flew basic this summer because the airplane I was flying was so bad I couldn't get it through the Intermediate sequence. I don't want to fly Intermediate next season because I'm tired of getting beat by my son. So I tried the Advance Pattern. Not only did I get all the way through the sequence but people thought I'd been flying it a while. I equipped the airframe with the Himax motor turning a 19.5X13 3 blade. It will be my pattern weapon next season.

Rating Great Flier Out of the Box !!!!
2M Acuity maiden flight was uneventful, which is the preferred outcome. Seriously, only two clicks of down elevator for an out of the box build. Very impressive. I tried a number of different maneuvers to test trim. Even the rudder on a true wings level pull to vertical and it stayed on track through stall turns. Great vertical on a 3-Blade Falcon 20x12.5 pulling about 78amps. No evidence of roll tendency when flown either direction with the wind blowing in at less than 5mph, just very surprised it didn't need any trim at all on Ailerons. Landing is very nice and predictable as the plane slowed. Andrew did offer a couple of tips which I used. Balance for CG with the canopy off is slightly aft of the former near the wing tube. He also recommended one thin shim on the top left corner of the motor mount to provide a touch of down and right engine thrust. Great 2M Plane for its class and very economical. Easy build as well. Set Up: Motor - Himax 6330-210 Pro ESC - CC Edge 80HV Prop - Falcon 3-Blade 20x12.5 Rx Voltage 5.8v Power Sensor Switch (redundant system) Servos (Futaba): Ailerons - BLS571sv Elevator - 2x S9650 (Fit pre-drilled holes) Rudder - BLS171sv I intended to go with the BLS173 in the Elevator, however, it would have required a very minor add of thin light ply for the servo screws to engage. I had four S9650's laying around and decided to check the fit. It was perfect, so I used them instead. The 2M Acuity flies beyond my ability (bottom feeder Intermediate) and provides a lower cost solution for entry level Pattern, as well as, those with a tighter budget in any Pattern class. To top it off, the Acuity is a good looking plane in my opinion. Thanks Andrew !!!!! LD

Rating 2m Acuity assembly and inital flights
After a rainy, cold and windy start to our NY spring, I finally got a chance to take my new 2m Acquity to the field for test flights. I am happy to say that all went well, and the plane flies super. After a few clicks of trim it was flying straight and level, and controlled very predictably. I was not able to obtain a starting CG for the 2m, so I ran the Acuitys specs through an online CG calculator, and arrived at 8.57 from the LE at the wing root. That seemed quite aft to me, so I started out a bit ahead of that figure for the first flight, and worked back to that spec after each flight. The plane feels very slightly nose heavy, with just a touch of down on inverted flight, which feels good to me. I used throws sent from AJ: elevator 10 up, 12 down; ailerons 10 up and down; rudder about 25. Control at those rates felt smooth and comfortable, and very adequate for all my maneuvers. The shipping carton is a real work of art, in that the plane arrived in perfect condition. Construction went smoothly. all hardware was excellent quality and worked perfectly. The control openings in the stabilizer needed to be opened slightly for my servo arms and linkages, but that was a minor trim with a knife. One thing to pay attention to is the cowl mounting. Remember that the motor projection, the centering of the motor shaft along with fitting the canopy are all related to the position of the cowl. It isnt difficult, but dont forget to be sure the canopy fits all the way back to the mounting bolts. Needless to say, I didnt get that on the first try! A construction guide or a video would be a welcome addition, as would be a listing of the control throw and CG specs. I am neither an expert builder nor an expert pilot, but this was and enjoyable plane to assemble and a real treat to fly. From the first take off, the 2m Acquity has been a predictable and even a relaxing plane to fly. Controls are smooth and even, and landings have been slow and smooth. Visibility in the air is outstanding, the wing bottom pattern is a favorite of mine. I know from my initial flights that I am looking forward working with this plane and building my flight skills.
