The all-new AJ Aircraft Acuity was designed to give you all of the precision flight abilities of expensive composite aircraft, in a more traditional balsa & plywood frame. Designed by our own F3A pattern champion Andrew Jesky, this 62" model will be a perfect introduction to competition pattern aerobatics. With a tall & slender fuselage, slim swept wing and T-Canalyzer on the canopy, the Acuity will slip perfectly through any aerobatic maneuver. And, the suggested electronics setup will work perfectly with the 5&6s 4000-5000mAh packs you likely already own.

Rating My Acuity performes every bit as well as I hoped it would.
What a great airplane. If you want an airplane that tracks perfectly, does exactly what you tell it to do, lands like a dream and makes it all look easy, then this is the plane for you. Everyone that takes a turn on the sticks wants one. There are a couple of improvements that I will suggest for AJ and crew. The slots for mounting the aileron and elevator control horns require a lot on work for correct positioning and installation of the control horns. The second area that could use improvement is the leading edge of the slot for mounting the horizontal stabilizer. The shape of the leading edge of the slot is not a perfect match for the shape of the stabilizer. This does not interfere with installation, but it does detract from the appearance of the completed aircraft. I suspect both issues are more a result of the manufacturing process instead of design, but if they can be corrected the plane would be even better.

Received the Acuity 62 and have about 8 flights. Nice build, and plenty of room inside. I used the pull-pull rudder system and it was easy to install. directions were easy to follow and the quality is superb. Plane flies great, very little trimming was needed so far. I look forward to getting back into to local pattern competitions very soon. I am using 5S -5000 mah packs and get easily 7 minutes of flight time.

Finished assembly of Acuity. Wonderfully easy build. Only problem was motor mount bolts were too short and had to be replaced. Added 2nd elevator servo and will compensate cg placement. Had to do same on 60 AJ Laser when I noticed rudder correction was needed on uplines. The Laser is my favorite, but expect Acuity to surpass its performance for precision. Thanks AJ Aircraft

Rating My entry plane into the world of pattern
I'm fortunate to have some heavyweights in pattern helping/mentoring me as I make my entry. Today when I took this plane off for the first time and went through some of the basic flight characteristic tests, people took notice. It needed very little trimming and it was making all the right moves. It's a VERY nice flying airplane and should easily get me through Sportsman and Intermediate... maybe further than that. It went together well. The fit & finish is the best I've seen on an ARF. I'm looking forward to digging in to this thing.

What a great value! How else can you be in the air with a competitive pattern bird for well under $1000 total? Build went well - the biggest (non)issue I had was that the aileron linkages were just a little short - needed to make up my own to fit well. All-up weight with 5200mAh 5s pack is 6 lb 6 oz by my scale. First flight went very well - needed a little up trim, but otherwise everything was right on. CG is just little nose-heavy w/ batt full forward - plenty of room to scoot it back to hit my preference. The only advice/request I would make would be to provide longer elevator/aileron horns - both are VERY sensitive at recommended throws (I'm already down to 50% D/R on ail & 60% on elev), and my linkages are already on the inside servo arm holes. With longer horns, it would be easy to reduce throws a little and still have plenty of travel on the servos. AJ's recommended 5s motor provides awesome thrust/power for unlimited verticals. AWESOME aircraft overall!
