This is one of the really nice things about AJ compared to other manufacturers, since not all of them sell a repair kit. I ripped out my landing gear in weather I shouldn't have flown in. Without the motor box kit, the repairs would have added weight, would be really hard to get perfectly straight, and probably been weaker. With the kit, the parts fit 100% perfectly and the plane is literally as good as new. Want proof? I measured the distance from wing tube to stab tube before removing the old box, then just before gluing the new one in place. With no jigging, there was literally zero difference between between the two. The alignment was perfect.
It would be nice to have an instructional video. Removing the old and installing the new isn't rocket science but it's time consuming and there are some tricks that can save a LOT of hours and avoid some mistakes if you don't have to learn along the way. |
